In Carphone, I sold almost 40 of them from Xmas to April!! It's an iPod, ultra high quality digital camera, sat nav, movie player, web browser, mobile office & a lot more. Calling it a 'phone' is a MAJOR understatement, it's like having my laptop in my pocket. Endless connectivity & synchronisation options available.
I've got the N95 8gb, had N95-1, E65, N73me, N70me & will be getting the N96 because the Symbian S60 platform imho, is unbeatable.
The only concern I'd have from your comment is Meteor. They don't have a 3G network so you're limiting yourself potentially. Go for the N95 8gb, it's around the same price as Meteor, on Vodafone Perfect Choice 400 with a data add on. You won't be sorry!

@conoro: Surprised by your issue with having to flash twice, especially due to it slowing down! It's got a 332mhz processor & 128mb RAM which should easily cope with any usage.
I've had mine carrying upto 7.5gb of stuff without batting an eyelid & I've modified close to 50 handsets for people without ever encountering this. The only thing I can think of that could cause it is if the phone memory is near full. The RAM uses the phone memory to 'hold' information, allowing free RAM for on demand use & still having quick access to your background apps by having it at the ready on the phone memory. So, if it doesn't have space to do that, it's going to have to try run everything together & slow it down.
Btw, if you're into your apps & that 'Ooh, I didn't know you could do that' effect, my services might be of interest to you... :)

I've an E65 aswell, got it just before my N95, & I was pretty happy with battery life to be honest. One thing to note is that turning off 3G & just using gsm made a HUGE difference, also having the latest firmware helps. Give me a shout when you get your N95, I can 'pimp' them up & have them do some pretty cool things!

iPhone doesn't even come close to matching the potential of the n95! (google 'n95 8gb vs pentium II pc, says it all!) I had (still have) an N73 & i loved it. I managed to 'modify' it & got the music edition firmware on it. Since i got the N95 & then the 8gb, i would almost say it's the single best purchase i've ever made! Again, i've mine modified heavily & with the applications i've added, cut down how much i relied on my laptop by almost half!

Ohhh, you didnt mention that!! Don't say a WORD to him about it getting a knock, as it's most likely the source of your screen problem! Just pray he doesn't find physical damage, that voids the warranty! Get on to ebay & get an 8gb micro sdhc memory card, works perfectly with d new firmware update. You'll only regret it afterwards if you get a smaller one...

It's cool to show off with it though! At home, I've my 2nd laptop & backup hard drive running with a Winamp Remote account & I use it to play media via my phone, PS3 & PSP but I also gave my housemates the login & now they can access the files too.
It's definetly functional for me as a dj, I can setup an account & have a shared folder of my mixes etc. & if someone wants to hear it I can just give them the login info.

The connection from the screen to the board is EXTREMELY fiddly & fragile, it can come loose pretty easily too. Only takes a couple of mins to get at it & rule it out. If you want to give a shout over to me with it at any stage to check it for you, it's no problem (can try screen from mine to see if that cures it too).

Another pretty cool thing I have set up with my music is Winamp Remote. Create a free account, select the media you want to share & put it in the appropriate folder.
Then save the login link you get as a bookmark on your phone & presto! Providing your PC powered on is running Winamp Remote at home, you can access your music & stream it to your phone from anywhere in the world!! Works okish over a 3G connection but expensive, best left to wifi...
Damn, I'm such a nerd...

Yeah you can, using the blastfm application: http://nokiaaddict.com/2008/04/22/lastfm-player-for-the-n95-8gb/
Read the instructions carefully to get it working. It's 100% for me anyways.
Here's a cool app for any N or E series Nokia. It scrobbles the tracks you play on your phone: http://mobbler.googlecode.com/files/mobblers600112.sis

All nokia handsets have 24 month warranty
Sounds like its the phototropic sensor (beside front camera).
That tells the phone if it's light or dark, so it knows when to use the flash & light the keypad. Try this:
Go to tools > settings > general > personalisation > display > light sensor. Move the bar all the way to the right & see if it improves...

Oh...... Seen that happen twice & both times it was moisture damage! :(
Do a backup of the phone through PC Suite to save all the contacts, memo's, messages etc. & drop it into the nokia centre or I'll take a look at it if you want...
I've 'ressurrected' a few phones after getting wet, one being an n95 that got dropped into a pint!!
Btw, I've got one for sale if you know anyone interested...
